Competitors either sell manual labour, which is slow, expensive and does not scale, or point solutions, which cover one stage and leave the author to coordinate the rest.
For Investors
An integrated AI book production and distribution business
D&H Publishing International is building the first fully integrated AI-powered book production and distribution ecosystem. The global self-publishing market is worth over $18 billion and growing, and our proprietary technology automates work that traditionally requires a team of freelancers, cutting production costs by 80 to 90% while holding professional quality.
Global market size in 2025, and growing.
Projected size of the audiobook market alone.
Compared with coordinating a team of freelancers.
The Problem
Self-publishing is fragmented
An author publishing properly today has to hire and coordinate five to eight separate freelancers: an editor, a typesetter, a cover designer, a narrator, a metadata specialist, and someone to handle distribution. Each has their own schedule, their own file conventions and their own invoice.
The process takes months, costs thousands, and the quality is inconsistent from one stage to the next. Traditional publishing is not the answer either: 12 to 24 months from acceptance to shelf, and the publisher keeps 85 to 90% of the royalties.
D&H removes both problems. One supplier, one pipeline, one price, 48 to 72 hours.
The Technology
Ten production systems, one pipeline
D&H has built more than ten proprietary AI-powered production tools, each solving a specific stage of the manuscript to market pipeline. These are not wrappers around third-party APIs. They are purpose-built applications with their own intellectual property in prompt engineering, pipeline orchestration, multi-language production and quality control.
| Capability area | What it does |
|---|---|
| AI typesetting engine | Interior layout, 18 styles, every major trim size, print PDF and reflowable EPUB from one source. |
| AI cover generation system | Full-wrap covers with text and barcode composited, three options per book, multi-platform export. |
| AI metadata and description engine | Retail copy and platform-specific metadata generated from the manuscript. |
| AI audiobook production platform | Voice casting, pronunciation management and mastering, delivered to 30+ channels. |
| AI manuscript critique engine | Four-tier structural, consistency and factual analysis across 7+ languages. |
| Production management platform | Multi-language edition workflow, team roles and platform publication tracking. |
| Author profile and landing page platform | Author pages, book pages, hero imagery and QR codes for print editions. |
| Direct-to-reader marketplace | Book club federation, author storefronts and a shared central library. |
| AI illustrated book production | Character locking for series consistency, scene generation and cover in one pipeline. |
| Unified pipeline (in development) | A single manuscript-to-market workflow across every tool in the stack. |
| AI marketing intelligence (in development) | Event-driven campaign planning with spend and results tracking. |
Capability areas are listed rather than individual systems. The full schedule of named tools, domains and architecture is shared under NDA.

Market
Positioned between two growing markets
The global self-publishing market exceeded $18 billion in 2025. The audiobook market alone is projected to reach $35 billion by 2030. D&H sits at the intersection of both, with AI-powered production that scales without a proportional increase in cost.
Every additional title produced increases the catalogue available to the marketplace and the book club network, which increases the value of the reader-matching engine, which improves recommendations, which sells more books. The model compounds.
Competitive Moat
Why this is hard to copy
Ours is an integrated pipeline: manuscript in, finished multi-format book out, across 7+ languages, in 48 to 72 hours.
The cost base is software, not headcount, so margin improves with volume instead of collapsing under it.
The tools were validated on our own catalogue before they were offered to any author.
Use of Funds
What investment accelerates
The company has been built with founders' capital and its own book revenue. Investment is about pace, not survival.
